A local customer came to us regarding his need for a multi-purpose pole building to be used to house horses, store a tractor, and have a little room left over for a small office space. After mulling over a few different construction styles it was decided that a standard pole building with the addition of a single lean-to porch would be best for the job.

Our own Tuff-Post brand engineered pole building posts were used to frame up the main structure. Unlike traditional stud wall structures a pole building (also referred to as a post frame building or structure) does not require a block or concrete foundation. With a pole building the posts themselves serve as your foundation. This can save you significant time and money, which has directly resulted in the rising popularity of pole buildings.

In order to function well for multiple uses a fair number of options were selected. Two 10ft high single slider doors were added, one on a gable end and one on an eve side; opposite the lean-to porch. Under the lean-to porch an entry door was added for the office space, as well as a window. Three Dutch doors were added to allow extra ventilation and exterior views for the horses. A cupola and wainscoting finsh off the look. Translucent panels were added to capture sunlight.
