About Pole Garages
Pole garages are built using post frame construction. This differ from standard stick frame (aka stud wall) garages in a number of ways. Because the poles act as the foundation for the structure there is no need to lay a concrete slab or blocks to build upon. This offers significant savings during the construction phase. One of the great parts about choosing a pole garage is that you can add a concrete floor at a later time if you choose. This lowers your up front costs.
Commonly most pole garages are finished with metal siding and a metal roof, though shingles and/or vinyl siding is still an option. This style of construction is used more often when the garage is not being located right next to the home, thereby eliminating the need to replicate the the look of the siding and roofing on the home. Like all other pole buildings your options are plentiful. You can choose to add entry doors, windows, sliders, wainscoting; whatever is necessary to make the garage completely functional for your needs.
